Simple Fondant Cake

Fondant is so much easier to play with compare to butter cream so I created one that looks like this. I like the satin like finish although covering the cake with fondant the first time could be scary a little. Some people actually recommended me the economical home made type fondant esp when you are making a 3 tier cake. I have not had a chance to try that yet but it will be part of my plan next. You might think that fondant doesn't taste as good and its normally peeled off the slice of cake, so why bother? Just remember that your cake you create is going to amaze your guests and customers and that will not be 10 years from now. Hence, I am convinced to make my own fondant. Stay tuned!

Lemon Cheesecake

I made a lemon cheesecake but this time its replaced with some orange rind to give the tangy flavor. The result was fantastic. Reason being, I ran out of time to get the lemon zest so there went the improvisation. You can actually see the trace of orange rind on the sliced cheesecake.

Moist Chocolate Cake

Top pic is the less sweet butter cream and easy to make recipe I received from Rose Gianopoulos. Its not so sweet and contains the buttery flavor if you like it. I find it easier to ice the cake as well. This is a new moist chocolate cake recipe I got from Sugarcraft and it was relatively easy to prepare. The entire house smells chocolatee when the cake was almost ready...I iced the entire cake early next day. Guess what! I am all for it now!

Fruitful Event

I attended an event called East Meets West last Sat and that was surely an eye opening event for me. The ICCA founder, Rosalind Chan demonstrated the latest decorating techniques from ICES convention in U.S and shared with us(pic shown), so that was exciting. Local chef, Alex Tan also promoted some of his new products to the audience and its amazing to see how fast he could decorate 5 cakes in less than an hour. As I was busy taking pic, my phone ran out of battery! Bummer!I wish I could share more pic with you.
