Rainbow Crepe Cake

I came across this Recipe on youtube one day and decided to take up a challenge to make it. It was many years ago when I had the Crepe cake for the first time when I went to a famous restaurant in Melaka. The crepe cakes there make it a signature dessert that many people will travel all the way to try. I knew that it was going to be time consuming just like making Indonesian Layer Cake so I did it on a quite night when there wasnt any interruption at all. The preparation was easy to do, you just need some patience to pan fry the crepe one one by one. Took me 3 hours to prepare, mixing colors and pan fried 47 layers.

Indonesian Layer Cake / Kue Legit / Kuih Lapis

Made another Indonesian layer cake aka kue legit or kuih lapis in my home country for Chinese New Year. Its also a good chance for me to try my 8" new baking pan I bought from Bakers Rack recently. It took me altogether close to about 4 hours to prepare and bake the cake. I prepared the Chinese character '福' ahead of time and kept it in freezer until my cake was ready. The word sybolizes prosperities and its would be a great gift for Chinese New Year. It made of the prunes and I just followed the enlarged print out of the character as my template in pic. The size of the character is about 6.5" so its perfect for my tray. You can decorate it with any design you prefer and its common that this cake has prunes in between the layers. My Indonesian friends were happy with the cake this time and I was told they think a less fluffy texture will be the one they tried back home.
